Goodbye Diego Maradona and The NBA champions

by Anvi Atreja

The Lakers won the NBA championship back in October. October 11th to be exact. Since Lebron James was on the Lakers, he won his fifth championship ring. And winning 5 championships is a big achievement. Anthony Davies was also on the Lakers Team Roster. Even though many people just call the Los Angels Lakers Lakers or the LA Lakers, They are called the Los Angeles Lakers because they are a team from California. During the championships, and the games leading up to it, they could not go to California because they were in the Bubble. The bubble was the way to protect the players from Covid-19. The bubble was a system that meant that the players could not go out of it unless they quarantined for 14 days after their recess, and take a Covid test. This was to ensure that all the players were safe and that there were no Covid outbreaks. But speaking of World Championships, Diego Maradona is just like Lebron James. However, he only won one world cup. But winning a world cup is an accomplishment in itself because unlike in the NBA countries from all around the world compete in it. In the NBA only US teams are allowed to compete. It even says it into its name National Basketball Association. Not the International Basketball Association. Maradona was the star of the Argentina Soccer Team. But unlike James, He sadly died on November 25th, 2020. His hand of Glory helped Argentina win. It was a spectacular goal, and it happened so fast that people didn’t even know if it had happened with his hand or his foot.  This and many other goals like this made Maradona famous. But with great power comes great responsibility, and did drugs. Nevertheless, he was famous for his great soccer talent.
